News culture Is it a scam? The creator of Daredevil on Disney+ forced to explain the continuation of the series
Daredevil: Born Again is the next Disney+ series about the famous eponymous character. Its creator considers this sequel to be a scam coming from the big-eared firm.
The next series Dardevil is a scam? This is what Steven DeKnight, the showrunner of the first season of the original TV show, says. To provide context, the first project on the character belonged to Netflix, but the company canceled it after three seasons. The rights were therefore bought by Disney+ which decided, instead of producing a fourth part, to make a whole new series by calling it Born Again. Charlie Cox, the interpreter of the superhero, had stated the reason for this decision to the media NME. For him, “it has to be a reincarnation, it has to be different, otherwise why do it?”. However, for Steven DeKnight, this is just a scam from the streaming giant. In several tweets, he explains his vision of things in response to certain users:
He does. It’s an old Disney scam where they slightly rename a series to reset contract terms back to first season. Needs to be addressed by all the guilds/unions and crushed! https://t.co/Ttj4A3tnE4

This is an old Disney scam where they slightly rename a series to reset the contract terms to the first season. All guilds/unions need to look into this issue – Steven DeKnight, the showrunner of the first season of the TV show Dardevil original
After the ComicNerd media outlet took up these comments in another tweet, Steven DeKnight details his words. He says it “is a tactic of slightly changing the name of a series to avoid paying the original creators or increasing the team’s salary”. In his message, he continues by mentioning his support for Daredevil : Born Again which will be released on Disney+ in 2024.

The superhero returns
Daredevil first appeared in cinema as Ben Affleck in 2003. After the release of this film, a more successful series starring Charlie Cox was released on Netflix. This follows Matt Murdock who, despite his blindness, fights villains, in the form of a lawyer or with his Daredevil costume. As for the TV show Born Again, no information has been revealed about the plot. However, we know that it will fit into Phase 5 of the MCU and that it will consist of 18 episodes. While we only know that it will be released in spring 2024 on Disney+, a season two is already planned. As for the actors, Charlie Cox will still play the superhero. Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal will also return to perform Kingpin and The Punisher.
