The magistrates of the Bucharest Court of Appeal (CAB) decided that Miruna Pascu, the mother of the drugged driver who caused the tragic accident on May 2, in August, as a result of which two young people died, should remain in preventive detention. The court decision is final.
The mother of the drug addict remains in preventive detention
The CAB decided on Thursday to reject as unfounded Miruna Pascu’s appeal against the decision of the Bucharest Court of preventive arrest for 30 days.
Miruna Pascu was pre-arrested by magistrates from the Bucharest Court, at the proposal of DIICOT prosecutors.
Following the investigations, the prosecutors found that, consciously and deliberately, the defendant Miruna Pascu, Vlad Pascu’s mother, “exerted pressure to morally coerce a person, to make him not give witness statements or make false statements, in a case instrumented by DIICOT – Constanţa Territorial Service regarding the commission of the crime of possession, without right, of dangerous drugs, for personal consumption”.
In front of the court, Miruna Pascu admitted that she called the young woman and would have told her what to do and what to say when she was questioned, but she claimed that she did not realize that she was breaking the law, but rather wanted to protect young people with problems, writes RomâniaTV.
New accusations against Vlad Pascu
In addition, DIICOT announced that Vlad Pascu was prosecuted for three other new crimes. These are – possession of dangerous drugs for personal use, high-risk drug trafficking and making the home available for illicit drug use.
The Magistrates of the Bucharest Court also issued preventive arrest warrants for the three young men who supplied Vlad Pascu with drugs. It is about Tudor Duma, suspected of supplying drugs to Vlad Pascu and the one who broke into the Floreasca Hospital pharmacy shortly before he was picked up and taken to DIICOT for questioning, as well as about Ștefan Ciprian and Costin Antonio Constantin.
