The Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities announced, on Friday evening, that the National Program for increasing the birth rate will continue next year, with the draft GD in this regard being put up for public debate, reports News.ro.
“Today, 17.11.2023, the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities has made the draft Decision on the amendment of Government Decision no. 1103/2022 for the approval of the Social Program of national interest to support couples and single people, to increase the birth rate”, the ministry announced on Friday evening.
The cited source stated that “the huge success enjoyed by the previous program and the numerous requests from potential beneficiaries already on a waiting list, requires the continuation of the project in 2024, with the doubling of the number of beneficiaries, from 10,000 to 20,000 beneficiaries /year”.
The support is granted in the form of two vouchers, in the amount of 15,000 lei. Thus, one voucher worth 5,000 lei will be used for the purchase of specific medicines, and the second voucher, in the amount of 10,000 lei, will be used to pay for prescribed medical procedures.
“At the beginning of November 2023, 150 pregnancies in progress were reported at the MFTES level, and following the completion of medical procedures, three births were registered,” the ministry also stated.
“The social program of national interest to support couples and single people, to increase the birth rate” carried out so far is financed from the state budget, from the budget of the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities and aims to financially support couples and to single people in Romania, in order to carry out the recommended specialized medical procedures, as the main element to support the increase in the birth rate in Romania.
- Eligibility criteria that are in place now:
a) the two members of the infertile couple (married or not)/ the infertile woman must be Romanian citizens and have their domicile in Romania;
b) the two members of the infertile couple (married or not)/ the infertile woman to be insured in the social health insurance system in Romania;
c) the recommended specialized medical procedures must be carried out in a medical unit on the territory of Romania, partner of the program, authorized to carry out this type of activities;
d) the age of the beneficiary woman must be between 20 and 45 years.
- Documents required for enrollment in the Program:
Application for registration – Appendix 1, which includes the following supporting documents:
a) Copies of the applicants’ identity documents;
b) Declaration on personal responsibility – Annex 1a;
c) Document from which the diagnosis of infertility results, with the medical indication for carrying out the IVF procedure, issued by a specialist in obstetrics-gynecology with overspecialization in IVF and medically assisted human reproduction, employee or collaborator of the partner health unit, issued with a maximum of 60 of days before filing the file – Annex 1b;
d) Certificate issued by the Health Insurance House showing the applicant’s status as insured in the social health insurance system, issued a maximum of 60 days before the submission of the file or any other official documents, according to the law, proving the status of secure;
e) Individual agreement for the processing of personal data – Annex 1c.
