The Cernavodă reactor, automatically decommissioned
In other news, Nuclearelectrica announced that reactor 1 at CEN Cernavodă was automatically disconnected due to wind gusts that intensified considerably.
“Unit 1 of CNE Cernavodă was automatically disconnected from the national electricity distribution network in the evening of November 18, 2023, as a result of the weather conditions that caused disruptions in the national energy system,” Nuclearelectrica said.
The automatic disconnection of unit 1 from CEN Cernavodă and the necessary remedial works have no impact on the nuclear safety of the reactor, the unit’s personnel, the population and the environment, Nuclearelectrica representatives assured.
