The middle of November brings blizzards and snow in half the country. Meteorologists have issued two codes, yellow and orange, for bad weather for this weekend. In Suceava, several cars were stuck on DN 17 due to the snow.
“The Infotraffic Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police informs that on DN 17, between kilometers 224 and 230, Păltinoasa town, Suceava county, there is snow deposited on the roadway, in the snowy area and several vehicles are stuck on this road section”, the Infotraffic Center announced on Saturday morning.
Equipment was requested for removing snow and spreading anti-slip material.
Road traffic is stopped in both directions, there is a bypass route on DN 2E.
Also, the DRDP Iaşi reported that it is snowing in the mountain area of Suceava county, in Rădăuţi and in the Ghimeş (Bacău) area, and the road is mostly wet, with portions of snow covered in a layer of less than 1 cm.
“In the rest of the counties in the northeastern region, it is raining lightly, with sleet in Fălticeni and Suceava, but also in the areas of Potoci and Piatra Neamţ (NT), with an air temperature in the region between -2 and +6°C, according to News.ro. In order to ensure traffic on the national roads, at this moment they are acting with an effective number of 54 vehicles to be equipped with a blade and a spreader of anti-skid material”, DRDP Iaşi reported.
It also snowed in the west of the country.
Five snow removal machines intervened last night on DN 58 and DN 57B in Caraș-Severin county, spreading 21 tons of anti-skid material.
The authorities warn that the road is wet on all national roads and highways in the western area, and on DN 7A Obârsia Lotrului area, DN 57B Oravița exit towards Bozovici and DN 58 Reșița-Anina the road is wet, with traces of snow soaked with anti-skid material below 1-2 cm.
