A little earlier this week, we mentioned the fact that the Wonder Woman game could follow the path of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, and be yet another service game. This is in fact what a job offer published on the Monolith Productions recruitment portal suggested, today forcing Warner Bros. to explain.
Wonder Woman will not be a service game
Faced with the reactions of the players, the publisher had no choice but to speak out to clarify the situation. In an update published in the columns of IGN, Warner Bros. reaffirms that Wonder Woman is indeed a single-player action-adventure game:
Wonder Woman is a single-player action-adventure game set in a dynamic open world.
The publisher also confirms once again that the title will benefit from the system of Nemesis introduced in Middle-earth: Shadow of War and that it is not designed as a service game:
This third-person experience will allow players to play as Diana of Themyscira and introduce an original story set in the DC Universe, while utilizing the Nemesis system. Wonder Woman is not intended as a live service
After statements from Warner Bros. which recently indicated that it wanted to transform its biggest franchises towards a service game model, we imagine that many players will be reassured to learn that Wonder Woman will not take this path.
As a reminder, the game was announced in December 2021 with a short teaser and remains quite mysterious for the moment. We obviously look forward to discovering more about the title.
