News culture For fear of dying, this author reveals the end of his manga. It’s not One Piece!
One of the main fears of fans is to see their favorite saga be deprived of an ending. This fear is particularly present in the world of manga. It must be said that authors sometimes work for several decades on the same work. Recently, Berserk was saved by Kouji Mori following the untimely death of Kentaro Miura. A mangaka with serious health problems has made a drastic decision to say the least… He revealed the ending of his manga… just in case!
The ending of Hunter x Hunter revealed by the author
Hunter x Hunter is one of the most famous mangas and can boast of holding its own against Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, but also Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach. The manga written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi has been progressing for many years, to say the least, with difficulty. Indeed, its author Yoshihiro Togashi has significant health problems which force him to slow down the production of Hunter x Hunter chapters. Four years separated the publication of volumes 36 and 37.
In order to prevent any unfavorable fate, Yoshihiro Togashi has made the decision to reveal one of the four endings he imagined for Hunter x Hunter during an interview. If scenarios A, B and C remain unknown at present, the JV editorial team invites you to discover scenario D.
The ending (D) revealed by Yoshihiro Togashi (translated into French from @pewpiece’s translation from Japanese to English) :
The end (D)
At the edge of the lake, a young girl named Jin, holding a fishing rod, stands still. Suddenly, the fishing rod is violently shaken and Jin, surprised, exclaims: “I got it! I got the lake lord! She deftly lifts the lake lord onto her shoulders and stands in front of a woman saying: “As I promised, I have caught the lord of the lake! Mom!” Jin approaches the woman and passionately declares: “You must not tell me anything more. You must become a hunter.”
The woman, who no longer has any tricks, nods her head. Jin, still carrying the lake lord on his shoulder, walks away. The mother points out to her husband that Jin’s dream is to never leave the island and inherit their place. The father agrees with a laugh and the mother expresses her displeasure by saying, “Maybe his desires will change later. But I would like to know why you and Jin are like this. It’s probably because of the blood of great- mother Mito and grandmother Noko”.
The woman seems unaware that Grandma Mito and Grandma Noko are not related by blood, and the father smiles knowingly. The woman, expressing her wishes as a mother, adds: “But Grandpa Gon was a famous hunter…And this girl will one day leave the island.”
Jin insists: “I will never leave!” Although she is no longer visible in the heart of the forest, she hears her parents’ conversation and responds defiantly. The father, amused, said to him: “You have a keen eye.”
The scene changes and the workshop continues its work since Mito’s time. The lord of the lake has been cleanly cut up and his infernal parts sorted. Jin said to himself as he worked, “Mom never understands. When Grandpa happily talks about his memories as a hunter, Grandma Noko slowly moves away from her seat. Every time Grandpa Gon asserts, his belief is heard by someone. She hits the cutting board vigorously with a knife (I’ve had enough!!) waiting for someone to return after months and years of sadness breaks my heart… I’m making you wait someone !” The doors then open and a warm voice rings out. A little chubby child enters, a plant in his hand.
The child exclaims: “I really caught the lord of the lake! So, let’s pay homage to the whole island!” Jin replies, “I always… always wanted to be with the person I want to be with. Always together!” The child nods: “Yes!” Both, with a broad smile, prepare the meal. A bird flies off the island, above a town and its inhabitants. One’s son, another’s daughter, and another’s grandson live in different places and exchange smiles. They could be this character’s children and this character’s grandchildren. The bird flies away.
In the background, a figure observes the scene.

Berserk manga continues
The death of Kentaro Miura on May 6, 2021 at the age of 54 could have meant the death of the Berserk manga and put an end to the adventures of Guts, Griffith and the “Falcon Troop”. However, the mangaka’s assistants, supervised by Kouji Mori, decided to take over and bring an end to one of the most impactful mangas of the 20th and 21st centuries. After volume 41 including the last pages of Miura sensei and paying tribute to the latter, the next chapters are 100% the work of the artists of the Gaga studio (made up of former assistants of Kentaro Miura) with Kouji Mori at the helm. The late author of Bersek would have entrusted his friend with future narrative arcs as well as the ending. You will have to obtain the upcoming volumes to discover the fate of Guts.
