Alexandru Rafila announced that he will have a discussion, on Wednesday, with the trade unionists from Health. “I think it is important that the employees of the Ministry of Health, like their colleagues from the public health departments, should be able to have an income situation that does not discriminate against other categories of personnel working in the health system”, added the Minister of Health, according to News.ro.
“The discussion with the unions will take place on Wednesday. I have invited several trade union federations that have members in public health departments for a discussion. I had a referral from SANITAS and exchanged a few words with them, but the first meeting will take place on Wednesday. We obviously need to understand all the grievances, to try to find a common solution, because the public health departments and during the pandemic represented the backbone of the medical system, along with the hospitals that treated COVID patients. I think it is important that the colleagues from the public health departments, the employees of the Ministry of Health, should be able to have an income situation that does not discriminate against other categories of personnel working in the health system”, said Alexandru Rafila, on Monday at UMF “Carol Davila” from Bucharest.
Asked if the Government will find money for health workers, Alexandru Rafila answered: “I don’t want to advance any kind of solution”.
“We explore, see if we can find solutions. A calendar that is very important, but I am convinced that good faith exists everywhere, so that discrimination does not persist within the health system”, added the Minister of Health.
Employees from several institutions in the country are protesting, on Monday, for the fourth day, demanding a salary increase. Thus, the employees from the public health departments, the territorial labor inspectorates, the pension houses, the payment and social inspection agencies from several counties are still protesting, and the employees from the pension houses have announced that they will also organize a warning strike on Wednesday .
The Federation of Trade Unions from the Ministry of Labor claims on Monday that, for years, no Government has “treated the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity according to the importance it has”, although it has direct activity with the public. The trade unionists accuse that the salaries are much lower than those in other sectors of the administration, although the working conditions are difficult and the lack of personnel is acute.
The trade unionists announce that they have decided to organize a warning strike on Wednesday, between 08:00 and 10:00.
