It didn’t even start well, and this week seems to bring good news for Romanian drivers in terms of fuel prices. Petrom, the market leader in Romania, has just lowered the price of both diesel and gasoline.
Every weekend, for some time already, Petrom comes with a unique offer in the market. At most gas stations in the chain, they apply a discount of 7 banis per liter. It disappears on Sunday evening at 11:00 p.m. It seems, however, that this week the price decreased from the first hour of Monday morning, continuing the offer from the weekend, although we are only talking about 3 pennies less for gasoline and diesel.

How much did gasoline and diesel cost in Romania?
The weekend that just ended came with very good news at the pump for Romanians. Those who refueled could see a price reduction of 12 banis per litre, the value adding up to the 7 banis reduction usually applied by Petrom. For reference, the offer in question runs from Friday evening at 11pm to Sunday evening at 11pm and covers a third of its stations. The idea behind this campaign is not entirely new, having been applied in past years for more or less limited periods.
In any case, at the weekend, at Petrom Vitan, according to Economedia, you could buy a liter of standard gasoline for 6.58 lei per liter, while standard diesel jumped to 7.22 lei. Both, 12 bucks less than Friday. If we did not take into account the promotion, the discount would be 5 paise.

How much is fuel at the pump today, November 20
According to the data aggregated by peco-online this morning, in Bucharest, a liter of standard gasoline starts at 6.56 lei at Petrom, respectively 6.59 lei per liter at Lukoil. The highest purchase values are recorded at Mol, 6.75 lei per liter.
As for standard diesel, it is detached cheaper in price. At Petrom it starts this morning from 7.24 – 7.26 lei, depending on the gas station. At Mol, the difference is not as big as for gasoline, we are talking about only 7.38 lei for a liter.
Compared to a month ago, gasoline is 4.4% cheaper, a detail that is reflected in 15.5 lei less for a 50 liter tank. For diesel, the price drop was 4.6% or 17.5 lei less per full.
