A man who tried to buy a car was robbed by three individuals, on a street in Braşov, and the sum of 42,500 lei was stolen from him. The three were remanded in custody for 30 days.
The representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Braşov District Court reported on Tuesday that the prosecutors have opened a criminal case against three people, for committing the crime of aggravated robbery.
“On 11/19/2023, around 10:20 p.m., a male person moved to the building located in the municipality of Braşov, Harmanului street no. 94, in order to mediate the purchase of a car for another person who was in Germany at the time, having the sum of 42,500 lei. There, she met an unknown 31-year-old male who first demanded that she remit the amount of money. Later, at the latter’s request, the two went behind the blocks in the area to present the car, at which time two other male persons, aged 33 and 43 respectively, got out of the car, and the first of these threatened the injured person with a knife in order to keep the amount of money, without providing her with the car she was supposed to purchase”, announced the prosecutors.
The victim ran from the scene, called 112, and then started chasing the three.
“To get away from the victim, the driver made numerous turns on side streets, but without success. At one point, they temporarily stopped the car, and the 33-year-old male person got out and disappeared. Later, within the range of the town of Ozun in Covasna county, the other two people were caught by the police, without the amount of money being found on them. Also, after the passage of a period of time, the third person was caught by the police bodies in Bacău County, without the amount of 42,500 lei being found on him”, the source quoted by Newws.ro also stated. .
The three men were detained for 24 hours, after which they were presented to the Braşov Court, which decided on their preventive arrest for 30 days.
