The Greek giant Hellenic Telecom has signed a memorandum to sell Telekom Romania Mobile to Quantum Project Group and it can be said that this is, without a doubt, the news of the day.
The latter is a company controlled by businessman Adrian Tomșa, who owns Clever Media, owner of Look, Prima TV, Agro TV and Profit TV stations. The plan was submitted for approval to the authority in Romania, according to the information provided by the Bloomberg publication.

What is happening with Telekom, in fact
In fact, Adrian Tomșa controls Quantum Projects SRL through ATTP Telecommunication SRL. Equally, he owns 90% of Clever Media Network, in partnership with Maria Nicoară, who owns 10%. In case you don’t know who Maria Nicoară is, find out that she is the mother of Orlando Nicoară, former head of Mediafax Group. Moreover, Orlando Nicoară is co-founder of profit.ro.
Adrian Tomșa also owns 49.62% of eAd Interactive, the company that acquired the TV rights for League 1 until 2024, where the director is the same Orlando Nicoară.
It turns out that, in 2019, Adrian Tomșa bought Prima TV from Cristian Burci, pocketing the sum of 5 million euros for the purchase of the well-known TV station.

Rumors referring to Vodafone, denied
In addition, it was rumored that Vodafone Romania, the third largest telecommunications operator judging by business in the Romanian market, would have expressed, at a certain point, its interest in the acquisition of Telekom Mobile and would have initiated a technical audit in the summer of this year, he wrote profit.ro, but the information was denied by Charalampos Mazarakis, claiming that such rumors appear every year.
Moreover, in 2021, Telekom completed the division process, with the fixed communications part being taken over by Orange Romania. The Greek giant also put up for sale the company’s mobile communications division, Telekom Romania Mobile.
